Our Story
We are HD Merino – a men's merino knitwear manufacturer founded on honesty, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for what truly matters.
Our founder, James, spent nearly a decade working in a menswear trading company, collaborating with brands across Europe and North America. Over the years, he worked closely with buyers and product teams, listening to their real concerns and challenges.
What he discovered was simple yet often overlooked: the best menswear brands weren't just chasing trends or the lowest cost. What they truly wanted — and were often struggling to find — was a manufacturing partner they could trust.
As a man who cares about what he wears, James began to feel this truth not only professionally, but personally. He realised that great knitwear isn't just about looking sharp — it's about how the garment makes you feel: confident, comfortable, and at ease in your own skin.
That conviction became the foundation of HD Merino. Not just another supplier, but a partner who listens, advises, and creates with care.
Today, our team works with emerging and established menswear brands across Europe to craft knitwear that reflects understated luxury, material honesty, and long-term thinking. We specialise in small-batch production using ethically sourced merino wool, designed to serve both your aesthetic and your principles.
If you're seeking a knitwear manufacturer who values trust, transparency, and true collaboration — we'd be honoured to start that conversation.
Sustainability
We are committed to sustainability and prioritize using eco-friendly materials in our production process. Our fabrics are carefully selected for their durability, comfort, and environmental credentials.
By incorporating sustainable practices, we contribute to a greener and more responsible fashion industry, ensuring that our garments are both stylish and conscientious.
Gauge Options
Our production capabilities span a comprehensive range of gauges, from ultra-fine lightweight knits to heavy, textured outerwear. Each gauge is engineered for optimal performance and aesthetic excellence.
Ultra-fine gauge for delicate, lightweight knitwear with exceptional drape and softness.
Balanced gauge offering optimal softness and structural integrity for everyday essentials.
Midweight gauge engineered for structured outerwear and complex textured designs.
Heavy-duty gauge delivering maximum warmth, presence, and durability for premium knits.
Our technical team provides expert consultation on gauge selection based on your design requirements, target market positioning, and production timeline.
